Fostering a more inclusive environment and promoting sustainable research, extension, and planning services, the Eastern Visayas State University – Dulag Campus hosted a CARE Camp with the theme “Breaking Barriers: Innovating Gender-Inclusive Research for Sustainable Planning and Extension”, Wednesday, October 25, at the EVSU-DC Function Hall.

Led by the EVSU-DC’s Head of Research Development, Extension, and Gender and Development, Mr. Fitz Henrick B Acosta, the event pushed through with the support extended by the Campus Director, Dr. Jovito B. Madeja.

Said event aimed to explore new avenues for gender-inclusive research, development, and extension activities within the academic setting. It brought together esteemed resource persons who shared their insights on various aspects of university functions.

Dr. Severo Blanco II, the Director of the Office of Extension Services, emphasized the crucial extension services that a university should engage in to create a meaningful impact on society.

Moreover, Professor Christopher C. Bacungan, Director of the Institutional Planning and Development Office, discussed the faculty’s performance concerning the four-fold functions of the university. His session delved into the multifaceted roles that educators play in shaping the future of the institution and its students.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fatima Socorro M. Quianzon, Director of Gender and Development, highlighted the importance of gender and development in academic and research settings. Her talk shed light on the significance of creating gender-inclusive environments within educational institutions.

The event drew an engaged audience consisting of faculty members and student leaders from EVSU-DC. Their active participation and enthusiasm underscored the campus community’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.
