The Eastern Visayas State University – Dulag Campus was established in the year 2020 through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between the Local Chief Executive (LCE) of the municipality of Dulag and the University President of the Leyte Institute of Technology (now Eastern Visayas State University). The said agreement was reinforced by the Regional Director of DepEd and the Congressman of the 2 nd District of Leyte, supported by resolutions issued by the nearby municipalities.
Originally known as the College of Science and Technology, the college was temporarily settled at Dulag National High School. Based on the agreement, LIT (EVSU) would supervise the operations while the Dulag National High School would be responsible for administrative concerns. As the student population grew, the college had to relocate to a bigger site and subsequently transferred to Municipal Building and the Senior Citizen building located at the heart of the municipality of Dulag. Upon passage of the Eastern Visayas State University’s charter, Dulag College of Science and Technology was changed to EVSU-Dulag Satellite Campus.
It was noted that the enrollment of the college significantly increased from 200 in the year 2000 to 300 after the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. Starting 2019, the college is offering courses such as BS Entrepreneurship, BS Office Administration, BEED and BS Information Technology.
Last January 12, 2022, the Eastern Visayas State University and the LGU of Dulag, Leyte entered again into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen the binding commitment for a shared obligations toward the continued development of the EVSU- Dulag Satellite Campus. The said event was also highlighted with the formal turn-over of school site from LGU Dulag, Leyte to Eastern Visayas State University.
On May 29, 2022, the EVSU-Dulag was converted into a regular campus by virtue of R.A. 11779 or “An Act Converting the Dulag Satellite Campus of the Eastern Visayas State University located in the municipality of Dulag, Province of Leyte, into a regular campus, amending for the purpose Republic Act no. 9311 and Appropriating Funds Therefor”.
At present the EVSU-Dulag retained its offering of courses such as BS Entrepreneurship, BS Office Administration and BS Information Technology with a total of Seven Hundred Sixty-two (762) students enrolled for the S.Y. 2024-25. The campus is currently manned by Ten (10) regular faculty members, twenty-nine (29) Part Time lecturers and headed by a Campus Administrator. In terms of operations, the current campus’ operation and maintenance is subsidized by the LGU Dulag until such time that funds of the EVSU-Dulag will be included in the General Appropriations Act (GAA).
