Following a successful consultative meeting with Mayor Jade Artates Agullo, a collaborative effort is now in motion to synchronize technical resources with the digital vision of Dulag. On February 20, 2026, a high-level coordination session was held at the DICT Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Dulag to launch a series of structured ICT training programs in partnership with the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Dulag Campus. Led by DICT Leyte Provincial Officer Claire Fernandez and EVSU Campus Director Dr. Gerald Jayson B. Balanga, the meeting gathered key academic heads and the leadership of IFTP IT Solutions, Janrie Lacsamana and Eric Ladrera. Demonstrating a strong commitment to public service, the IFTP team and their EVSU interns have volunteered as Community Digital Facilitators, providing essential hands-on technical guidance throughout the training period.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening community extension through enhanced digital access. By utilizing the DICT DTC as a central training hub, EVSU is expanding its educational reach beyond the classroom, helping local citizens develop the digital competencies necessary to compete in the modern economy. The facility will serve as a specialized center where participants can master everything from basic digital literacy to advanced technical skills. Key priority areas include Cybersecurity Fundamentals—ranging from “Cyber Hygiene” for senior citizens to Cisco Networking Academy pathways for the youth—as well as Microsoft productivity training for LGU employees and foundational software engineering for aspiring tech professionals.
Ultimately, these initiatives are designed to equip EVSU students, LGU staff, and Barangay officials with practical, job-relevant skills. By bridging the gap between academic learning and professional application, this collaboration reinforces EVSU’s dedication to community service while directly supporting the digital governance goals of the municipality. Through this joint framework, DICT and EVSU are ensuring that inclusive ICT capacity-building opportunities are available to all, effectively preparing the Dulagnon community for success in the global digital workforce.
